Midland Tree Management (MTM) was established by Bill Hurlstone in 1986 and has been providing  tree services to customers in Derby, Nottingham, the Midlands and South Yorkshire (and further if required) for over 20 years. All work involved with tree surgery, tree removal and tree surveys are undertaken.

Immediate large tree experience was gained by Bill in clearing the aftermath of the storms in Hampshire in 1987. During 4 months emergency services contracted to local authorities, working experience was gained in dealing with the large, dangerous, wind torn tree damage created and thus helped develop MTM as it is now.

MTM has a wide range of equipment which gives us the capacity to offer large dangerous tree take down, full site clearance and most other tree work. We also offer the additional service of tree transplanting using a Big John 65 tree spade allowing trees with a trunk diameter of up to 7 feet to be moved.

The list of clients has grown over the years and now includes most organisations involved in tree work in the area. Several Councils, in particular Amber Valley Borough Council and Derby City Council use MTM on a regular basis and work is also regularly undertaken for the main house builders and site service companies operating in the area:
For example  Tarmac, Whitehouse Construction, Simons Construction, Radleigh Homes, SOL Construction, Miller Homes and Barratt Sheffield.

We also continue to carry out a full range of tree work for individual clients and smaller companies, from large tree removal to annual pruning and trimming.

We provide a full site maintenance service to the University of Derby and undertake a variety of work for Derby College in addition to giving advice on control of Japanese Knotweed and other notifiable plants to several companies and undertaking the regular clearing of these plants.

Full Arboricultural reports as required for planning applications and mortgage enquiries are also produced for both architects or on an individual basis.

All work is carried out to BS 3998 and our operatives hold all the relevant certificates for the tasks undertaken.
We provide a complete Health and Safety dossier before starting work that includes full insurance details.

method statement, risk assessment, safety and environmental policy.
